The statistics claim that back pain is the most common ailment among humans; that disables for work as well as the freedom of movement to perform most of the daily activities.

The immobility to which lumbar pain is subjected deprives the human being of the best privilege: the social and labor relation. It forces the patient to be prostrate to the bed or armchair with a single desire: to calm the pain; something that is not always achieved but is based on painkillers.

There are many ways to treat back pain; from anti-inflammatories-analgesics that involve the usual side effects to surgical solutions that sentence the patient not to be able to perform in the future, the work they previously performed. That is why any alternative is valid, as long as it is effective and does not present any risk to the patient.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelets obtained from the patient's own plasma, which contains reserves of bioactive proteins, including growth factors and peripheral stem cells included in the plasma, which are vital to start and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration. These bioactive proteins initiate the healing of the connective tissue: bones, tendons, muscles, and ligaments.

The biological therapy of PRP regenerates damaged tissue in patients who have failed other treatments as an alternative to surgery. The mechanisms of action of this treatment will be to improve the cellular and humoral immune state (defense mechanisms) and vascular state in the treated area, thus decreasing the possibility of an inflammatory process and accelerating the physiological processes of tissue repair, by regenerating the collagen through the activation of peripheral stem cells by growth factors.
